About Me

Michael “Drippy” Smart

Hi my name is Michael Calvin Smart. I was born and raised in Los Angeles/Long Beach, California. I went to St. Anthony's High School from my freshman-junior year, then transferred to Lynwood High School my senior year to finish out my high school career. I played 3 years on varsity two years at St. Anthony High and one year at Lynwood. After graduating, I went on to attend CSUMB and play Division 2 basketball for two years. After leaving CSUMB, I played in the Drew League, VBL, JBL, and was invited to Pro-Am camps.

My career has given me the opportunity to become a Recreational Liaison and Player Development Coach. I am a motivational and performance enhancement trainer who understands the game of basketball and how it should be orchestrated. What I value in my athletes is: great work ethic, high character, and great demeanor on and off the court. The teaching of basketball can help players overcome struggles and adversity in life.

I’m very passionate about helping young athletes achieve their dreams and have success in life using basketball as a key to accomplish their goals. It’s about applying the day by day mentality to every workout. In all my background in basketball has helped me become the trainer/coach that I am today.
